Brilliant labeller - I have had absolutely no problems with this labeller on Mac OS Panther or Tiger. The label software is pretty horrible, though. Looks like a Windows port. Ugly, slow and poor functionality. Still, it does the job. At least well enough for me not to bother to try to get Mail to print to it.As for not working with Vista? Well........... ,-))
Dymo Labelwriter 400 - I too had a Dymo LW320. Dymo asked me to return it, even providing a post free label. In return I received a brand new LW400 - totally free of charge. Well done Dymo! The downside is that it will only accept Dymo labels - unless anyone else knows better.
Vista compatibility - I had a Labelwriter 320 that was too old to use the new Vista drivers, and was a bit cheesed off about it. The support line followed their standard procedure and arranged for me to return it for repair. I got a new LW400 for a total repair and shipping cost of less than £50 inclusive. Well done Dymo for supporting customers with older hardware, I feel confident buying their products when they support old, out of warranty kit in this way.
Vista compatibility - I agree that this Dymo is ok but it s a shame that it is NOT Vista compatible ! They should mention this more prominent !It is right out theft NOT to do that and not to pay back the money spent on it. It is a useless toy.I am gobsmacked that they have not made this compatible anyway. What a management ! Sack the Product Developmnet guys.
Dymo are not always compatible with Vista - I own a Dymo label writer 320, I found it to be okay, it would occasionally stop working and you d have to unplug it and faff about to start it up again losing umpteen expensive labels into the process. The software loaded after some encouragement, it s okay, but has a tendency to list your addresses American style with the last name first. It becomes tedious to keep changing the names around. My main gripe, which is why I m writing this review, is to warn people to make sure that this machine is compatible with Vista. Mine is not, I found that out after I bought a new office computer. I wrote to Dymo who said, sorry, you can t use it with Vista, goodbye. I now have a Dymo Label Writer that cannot be used and Dymo don t care a jot. Do your home work before buying this printer. I will not be buying from Dymo again, some customer service they ve got.
